Huang, Dawei
(David)
Title: Managing Director Degree: Ph.D
Dawei Huang received his Ph.D. degree in Probability and
Statistics from Peking University in 1987. He worked as a computer
software engineer from 1973 to 1978; a Lecturer in Tsinghua
University from 1982 to 1984; an Associate Professor in Peking
University from 1987 to 1992; a Lecturer and a Senior Research
Fellow in Queensland University of Technology from 1988 to 2001; a
Contractor in Bell Labs, Murray Hill, Lucent Technologies in 1999
and 2000. He has joined Bell Lab Research China as a Member of
Technical Staff, a Technical Manager and the director since August
2000. He published More than 70 papers on statistical and IEEE
journals and conferences. He was granted many awards including the
Third Class National Natural Sciences Award in China, 1995; the
First Class Advanced Science and Technology Award by the State
Education Committee (SEdC), China, 1995; the First Class Award in
Science and Technology, Peking University, 1993; the First Class
Award in Science and Technology, Peking University, 1991; Time
Series Analysis and Multivariate Analysis Award, China Academia in
Science, 1989. He has one US patent granted, 6 US patent
applications and 1 Chinese patent application filed. His research
interests include applications and theory in wireless system and
multimedia communications, information theory, statistics and
probability theory. p>
Chi, Caixia
(Caroline)
Title: MTS Degree: Ph.D
Caixia Chi received her PhD degree from the Institute of
Applied Mathematics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2000. Her
research focuses on optical network, network modeling and
optimization, algorithm design, and graph theory.
Hao, Ruibing
Title: Technical
Manager Degree: Ph. D
Ruibing Hao received his B.S. degree (1993), M.S. degree (1994)
and Ph.D degree (1997) in computer science all from Tsinghua
University, China.
Ruibing Hao joined Bell Labs Research China in March 2001 as a
Functional Manager and now is the Technical Manager of Next
Generation Internet Research Group. Prior to his current post, he
worked as a Member of Technical Staff in the Network Research Lab of
Central Bell Labs, NJ, USA from 1999 to 2001. From 1998 to 1999, he
was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Computer
Science at Purdue University, Indiana, USA. From 1997 to 1998, he
was a Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at Tsinghua
Univeristy, China and the technical secretary of State Super 863
High-Tech Plan Steering Committee, China.
His research interest includes Internet Routing, Backbone Router
Architecture, Network Protocol Design and Testing, Automated Network
Fault Management, Network Computing and Network Security. He has
published over 50 refereed papers in the various journals and
conferences in the above areas and holds two U.S. patents.
Dr. Hao is a senior member of IEEE and a member of ACM. He is
members of IEEE Computer Society and Communication Society. He is a
member of Technical Committee of Internet, China Computer
Federation. Now he is severing a Guest Editor for a Special Issue on
Design, Analysis and Implementation of Communication Protocols of
IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications. He served as the
Technical Program Committee Member for INFOCOM 2002, 2004 and 2005,
ICDCS 2004, Applied Computing 2004, and ACM SIGCOMM 1st Asia
Workshop. He was the winner of the Best Paper Award of International
Federation on Information Processing (IFIP) in year 2000. He was
also awarded the third prize of the National Science and Technology
Advancement Award of China in 1997.
